28 May 2010

Today my mother-in-law didn't feel like cooking so we order out. It has been quite a long time since we had the last Domino. Thus I suggest Mr Ang to order Domino delivery pizza as our dinner. We ordered Classic chicken and seafood, plus free of charge onion ring. Mr Ang has recently bought a new camera, Canon S90. So we cam whore with the new camera.

Above were all the food that we ordered.

Mr Ang and I cam whore with self timer function for 10 shots and I asked Mr Ang to post differently for each picture.. lol...

Recall

I went out to somewhere to get something done today. By the time i got everything done and was in my car driving home, it was 12.30 noon. Had an apple as breakfast made me quite hungry. It was the timing and the feeling that reminded me of the thing that i miss since quite sometime ago.

It is my mum's cooking. You see, my mum is a career woman. She used to have a shift working hour. But when she was promoted to be a Sister, her working hour was changed to office hour. We were so lucky to stay in a small town where you can reach home from anywhere within 10 min or even less. Thus, mum will make her afford everyday to rush home during the lunch break to cook for us. Even though she cooked at most only 2 dishes per lunch, those were very delicious and filling lunch. Mind you, she only had 1 hour lunch break and she managed to feed the whole family within that time. What I felt today that made me recall all these was my hunger. Last time when I was hungry and was on my way home with my motorbike from school, I knew my hunger will only last for a while because mum was waiting at home with her home-cooked-delicious-lunch.

Now, the dishes. Mum is a very simple lady. I guess i inherited this from her. She likes to cook simple and healthy food. Due to time constrain, she only managed to cook at most 2 dishes per lunch and that's quite rare. Normally she only cooked a dish which include all the vitamins, carbohydrate, protein, etc. I remembered she cooked some beans with egg and hot dogs and that feed us all. She also liked to cook chicken with oyster sauce and she will put in some potatoes, or sweet potatoes, or cabbage, carrot, etc...I always like mum's preserved china vege (lak chai) with pork soup. I could eat that until i was too full.

Some of you must be asking, where did mum have time to do the shopping? Mum bought the vege and meat in the morning, 6.30am, before she went to work. Since it was a small town, she managed to buy everything she needed within 30 minutes. Sometimes, she even managed to buy me breakfast because i was always the latest person to go to school. lol...Sometimes, mum also cooked something from our garden. That was way too healthy.

I don't have any pictures to show what i've just said. Just wanna let my mum know that I appreciate and miss what she did for us. Love you mummy.

Dinner with Ummi

One of my dearest friend came to KL from Ipoh last week for a break to meet her family and friends in KL. Ummi has been one of my dearest friend since I studied DMU. Our friendship has become closer when we work in Ipoh. We enjoy each other's stories and we listen to each other's problems. In orther word she is my good listener/story teller and vice versa.

Ummi has small face thus every time I take photos with her, it would look like a giant beside a smurf.

Ummi and I love Papa John's piza. The price is quite similar to Pizza Hut but the taste is much better.

These were what we ordered. All are great.

Dating with my husband at VS

Mr Ang has always want to bring me to Victoria Station for dinner.

Victoria Station, the House of fine steak, is always well known for its any type of steak since long time ago. I am not really a steak lover but i do love it once in blue moon. Thus today, I've ordered a medium rare VS Sizzling Steak, while Mr Ang had ordered VS Rack of Lamb. Mr Ang has been a vivid lover of lamb ever since I know him. Since I have never eaten escargot before, Mr Ang suggest us order half a dozen of escargot as appetizer.

This is the escargot that we ordered. It was delicious. The sauce was great. I love the heavy taste of garlic of the sauce. Each of us have 3 escargot. Surprisingly they were very soft. They were in black color. I thought they are in yellowish color with elastic texture but I was wrong. That was my first time eating escargot. Will there ever be second time? Definitely YES!!
As you can see, all the escargot were emptied by us. Delicious....
This was VS Rack of Lamb ordered by Mr Ang. It was nice but Mr Ang complaint that it was quite fatty. Thus we decided to request for a less-fatty one next time whenever we are having steak. This was 75% cooked.
This was my VS Sizzling Steak. As I said, I am not a steak lover thus i never know how to order them. When I was asked of how I want my steak, i said 50%. But when i ask if 50% steak is still bloody and the answer is "yes", i changed my mind to 75%. But I forgot that I've ordered a sizzling steak, which means it will still be cooking in the sizzling plate when it was served. Thus by the end of my main course, the meat turned quite hardened.

This is me camwhoring. FYI, I am not camwhoring type but Mr Ang is. So, there I was.
This is Mr Ang camwhoring.

Thank you to my husband for the lovely dinner. I love you.
