Cervarix Vaccine

What is Cervarix?
Cervarix is a vaccine, proven to protect against HPV. HPV (human papilloma virus) is a known cause for cervical cancer in women. Cervarix in manufactured by GlaxoSmithKline.Cervarix protects against 2 strains of HPV (16 and 18) that cause cervical cancer. Cervarix is also formulated with AS04, a proprietary adjuvant that boosts the immune system response for a longer period of time to HPV strains. In clinical trials, women ages 15-55 were given the vaccine and the results suggest that the vaccine is effective in women over 26. GlaxoSmithKline says that Cervarix is "generally safe and well tolerated".

One must take 3 Cervarix jab in 0-1-6 duration, that is first jab followed by 2nd jab after 1 month and 3rd jab, 6 months after the 1st jab. Pregnant women should not get it.

Today, i just receive my first jab of Cervarix by Dr Teoh. Dr Teoh is very nice, he get me 2 Cervarix with cost price, which is RM145. If i were to buy the jab outside, i think i have to pay RM180-RM200 per jab. Thank you Dr Teoh.

1st : 27/5/2009
2nd: 27/6/2009
3rd: 27/11/2009

P.S: Been searching in the net for the picture of Cervaris but couldn't get. Sorry

All The best, Tania!

Tania is going to have her practical exam today! I know she will do fine. She came to Ipoh 1 month ago to have some practical in my clinic. But after she came, i knew deep down inside she had another intention, that is to eat all the nice food in Ipoh because Ipoh is always known as food paradise. Too bad she has braces on and she insist of not having colored food such as curry, anything with black soya, anything with sambal, ect. but she made a promise to come back again after removing her braces, which is a month time from now, to eat all the food she missed. haha, what an interesting friend i have there. Ummi is another hilarious friend i have, she can tell stories with the funniest facial expression. You will never fall asleep while listening to her stories.

I need to be MOTIVATED!

I am jaded. I am tired, jaded, cranky and impatient since the last 2 weeks. I mean it and i know Tania knows it very clear. Thanks Tania, for putting it up with me and i am really sorry if it made you feel bad. I think you’ll understand because we are all women! Just want to let you know, it was nice having you around. It will be part of my memory that i won’t erase.

I love my job, but 6 days a week, 9am to 6 pm on week days, and 9 to 4 on Saturday, this is too much at the moment. I need to take some break and i thank Mr Ang for the August trip to Fraser Hill. I really need the break. Yeap, He is going to bring me to have a 2-day trip to a very peaceful and quiet place called Fraser Hill. I’m looking forward to it. I believe everyone needs to get out once in a while. This does not mean i resent my job. I just want to get some fresh air and want to breathe.

When i was in the church this morning, i was touched by God’s work. A stranger, Indian lady sat close to me and said some honey with warm water will make my throat feel better and less cough. God is so wonderful, just when you think that the world is giving up on you, He’ll morally support you indirectly. That, even though i am at a place with not close friends and relatives, He is still watching you closely and never let me be alone.

Oh, next week Thursday is Chinese festival Dumpling Day. I've ordered some dumplings. haha, too bad can't share with Ummi, because they are not pork-free. Sorry Mi, next time k? Next time, I'll make some pork-free dumpling for you!

I always want to make my own dumpling. I found that cooking makes me relieved and it get rid of my sorrow. I still remember that mummy only did dumpling once in her life. I feel grateful and happy because i helped my mum with the dumplings. It was one of the unforgettable memories. But mum is not a DIY person. She is afraid of troublesomeness. She rather buy it or better still, don't eat la. yep, that's my mum, easy going. She'll say, without dumpling, you won't die! Then, she'll ask us go and buy other stuff to eat, just to cover our cravings. On the other hand, Grandma made the best red bean dumplings ever. She always made them for us and she'll make a lot. Because it was made of red beans instead of meat, it can be kept long in the fridge. I miss Grandma's dumpling. I believe Jia feels the same because she is the one who consume most of them.

Friends' Stay at Ipoh

I've forgotten to mention that i am having a friend stay at Ipoh currently. She is Tania. Ummi, another friend, move to Ipoh for work sake, i think 1 month ago. They are coping well. Except, Ummi's car was knocked by a lorry last week and Tania is going to have exam this Monday. Ummi is fine. The car just dent a bit in front. I am sorry Ummi, I wasn't there for you. And Tania, i am sure you will do well in your exam. I will pray for you, don't worry, okay? I went back to KL to spent some quality time with Mr Ang.

Dr Teoh is a very nice and understanding person. He allow me to come back on Monday morning. So, i got to spend another night with Mr Ang. Thus, i don't have to rush back to Ipoh on Sunday night. Dr Teoh, you are a very nice person, and i know that God knows it very well. Don't worry, you will be a great grandpa.

Mr Ang had planned the great weekend earlier. He just want the two of us to spend time alone and have a typical date. Besides, he also want to buy me some knee length pants because his mother said my pants are way too short. haha... In order to make me wear "longer" short pants, he just have to buy me new ones. Well, i don't mind wearing "longer" short pants, as long as they are comfortable. Besides, i don't think i'll feel like to wear very short pants anymore. I think maybe it is my age. I just think people at my age in very-short-till-you-see-the-buttock- pants are hideous. Mr Ang was very considerate. He asked me which movie i prefer, "Wolverine" or "Terminator:Salvation". He also brought his mother out on Saturday, so he can bring me out on Sunday. Well, you really need a considerate guy to be the mid person between your mother-in-law and daughter-in-law.

Actually i prefer A night in the Museum 2, but it wasn't out yet, so i decided to watch Wolverine. It was a very nice movie. He also gave me a few choices of restaurant for dinner, but i wanted him to surprise me. After the movie and some shopping, i was craving for some fruit juice at Juice Works. The fruit juice combinations are so nice. Well, i think whatever juice added with a little bit of sorbet will come out just right. But i was coughing non-stop, so Mr Ang didn't think it was a good idea to have it. After some begging and persuasion, he finally let me have it, with the condition that he will be the one who hold the cup. I didn't had much of the juice but i was very satisfy. Yummy, thank you baby.

Mr Ang brought me to New York New York for dinner. We both love this place especially in Singapore. The reason is simple, they serve pork. Of course, in Malaysia it is a halal place.

These were the food that we ordered, ceasar salad, beeft burger and chicken chop. They were nice.
This was Mr Ang trying to tie a not of cherry stalk handless, with only with his tongue. Well, i still don't understand what does it make you if you are able to do it. In the end, he really did it but i didn't take the photo because it was way too disgusting.
Finally, a picture of me and Mr Ang. I had a fabulous time. Thank you baby.

Random

I got a small gift from Tania recently. It is a pig-toothbrush-holder. So cute.

This is how it looked like when the tooth brush is in.
Just pull out the toothbrush and it will open by itself. Oh, by the way, His name is Wilbur. Hi Wilbur, oink oink...

I tried a few dresses lately. I miss shopping. I have been not buying anything for myself this year.

This dress is nice and comfortable but quite short, so it won't be comfortable. Skipped it.

This dress is nice. It is short but just nice. I like it but i think the price is a bit off my budget. So, skipped as well.

I took a few picture with my dad when i went back to Kuching recently.
I love daddy. He can cook all the food that you ask. Every time we go back, Dad will be figuring what to cook to feed us. I miss Dad's cooking. No matter what he cook, sure very nice. Thank you Daddy, I love you!

Same Taste

I went to a place called "Same Taste" for dinner one day, with Tania. Sine it was just both of us, the 2 girls with quite small stomach, we only ordered 2 dishes, glass noodle crab and Thai style chicken feet. They were so nice. Still couldn't manage to finish them, so we dabao in the end.

Then, went to another place called " Yum Yum" for lunch with Ummi, Yiyin, Tania and Yiyin's twin nieces. We ordered fried fish with Thai sauce and basil leaves, Japanese taufu, green vege and 5 pieces of pandan chicken. The chicken was nice but RM3 per piece, so expensive. The twins are not identical twin. They have different shape of eyes and they are damn quiet. They didn't even answer our question when we asked them over and over again with very soft voice. I am not a children person and i don't talk to my little sisters in very low pitch voice. Talking to them was killing me softly.

Then, went to a place to eat Hor Fun with Tania and Ummi. We ordered taugeh, chicken and gizzard + chicken liver. Only ate a few pieces of that, don't really like it. But the chicken and taugeh were nice.

As usual, 3 girls with small stomach couldn't finish the food.
But, for sure, we had our good time and this will be an unforgettable memory for us.

Scarriest Thing

Being a woman at my age and working in a gynecologist and obstetrics clinic, personally, there is nothing scarier than the news of "I am so sorry ma'am, you are unable to get pregnant anyhow." Well, it might seem not as scary from the outside, but if i were to hear this news, i would immediately break down ad cry. I can't imagine myself being all alone with my husband only, without any children to miss, to play, to call or to scold at. I know, i know, I am traditional, typical and boring type of girl. But who cares what do you think! As long as i am happy. Yay. So yes baby, i am happy to be with you and i will be glad and grateful to bear your kids. But now is not the right timing.

I went to church yesterday. I love the praising moment because the song leader and the musician are great. Normally, there will be a drummer (always played by youngsters), acoustic guitarist, base guitarist, electronic guitarist, and a pianist. Yesterday's electric and base guitarist and pianist were awesome. They are aunties and uncles in their fifties. Their facial expressions were very serious but they played good music. If you just listen to the musics without looking at them, you won't be able to tell who were playing. They were as good as the others. The only difference between them and the youngsters is they were too serious to play until they were unable to sing out loud the songs. It was really funny, i was laughing throughout the section but i admire them. Thank you Lord for giving them such talents regardless their age.

Yesterday was Mother's day, so HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY to all the mummies in the world. To my mum only, "Mummy i love you, muaks!"

-_-

Saw a patient with the husband and their 2-year-old boy. The boy is so cute. So, i played with him for a while. Suddenly the father asked him to show me the expression of a pig and a bird. OMG, why there are parents who want their child to be a pig, or a bird instead of human?! I don't understand-_-

Sisterly Childhood

I miss my sisterly childhood. i was borne in a family with no boys. However, we are still able to develop some masculine attitude. But if you ask me to raise an infant boy, i really don't have any idea!

I am closer to my elder sister, Angela. This is obvious because our age gap is only 2 years. Thus, when we were small, we always hung out with the same neighbor friends. On the other hand, my other 2 younger sisters, Natlie and Diana are closer. They always hung out among themselves. Sometimes they can create and communicate in their OGK language. When it is only both of them around, they will bear their secrets out. Well, this is how we live together last time.

Do we ever fight? yeah, hell a lot. We fight all the time, even when we see each other once in a blue moon now. There is a saying describe that, when you own something, you will not appreciate it. This is very true. Yes, i miss my sisters a lot. I miss the time spent with them.

  • I miss the quarrel noises that we had everyday in the house.
  • I miss pulling hairs and punching Jia.
  • I miss all of us, the sisters, secretly come to downstairs to watch movies when mum and dad fall asleep.
  • I miss sharing bedroom with Nong and Onge.
  • I miss myself cooking new recipes for them and they will finish it even though it taste bad.
  • I miss all of us watching TV in the living room with our no-manner sitting style which might fall asleep anytime.
  • I miss Onge asking weird and non-related question at the middle of nowhere and nobody will bother her.
  • I miss teasing them and they believed what i said especially Jia, and she will always ask me, "Really?"
  • I miss all of us sharing stories after come back from somewhere.
  • I miss their laughter and smile.
  • I miss the silly behavior of each of us.
All these things still happening around when we are together. The difference is it just don't happen that frequent anymore. I love all my sisters but is till meaninglessly hate them when against me. I am so grateful they all are my sisters. Thank you God for giving me such wonderful and interesting family.
