Ah, oh, wah, wee, oh.........

The other day we had a lady patient for varicose vein scan. Ok, before we start the story-telling part, let's do some homework. Oh, she wasn't my patient either.

Varicose veins are veins that have become enlarged and tortuous and it normally occurs to the veins in the legs. The signs and symptoms are,
  • Aching
  • Appearance of spider veins
  • Ankle swelling.
  • A brownish-blue shiny skin discoloration
  • Redness, dryness, and itchiness of areas of skin
  • Cramps
(the above highlighted "aching" suppose to be dull ache or uncomfortable ache, instead of pleasurable ache)

As the scan get started, we were all doing our own scans as usual. Suddenly, we heard a soft screaming voice"Ahhhh..........Ohhhhh.......Ouchhhhhh.........Hahhhhhhh.........oh dear, why is it this painful? oh dear, oh my....." I was thinking, " What the heck? No one with varicose vein had screamed like that before? Was varicose vein suppose to be that painful? (or rather, pleasurable?)" I was too curious that I immediately abandoned my observation job and ran casually into the cubicle to see what exactly was happening. To my surprise, the lady was painfully crying over her varicose veins! Oh the voice was not made on purpose, she was really in pain and coincidentally, she has the kind of soft spoken voice that made us all misunderstand.

The soft screaming was going on for the next 20 minutes, throughout the whole scan. And we could see the awkwardness expressions of all the other male patients in our lab. And we all pretended like nothing had happening.

Appropriate Behaviour

Today, we had a patient with very inappropriate attitude. He was there for varicose vein scan. He came in wheel chair. I think he was mentally unstable as he kept talking to himself and kept apologizing.

The moment I saw him, I noticed something was different. Hmm....Oh, his left hand! His left hand was inside his pants! He was rubbing or scratching his private part with his left hand. I accidentally saw it and quickly turned away my head. I thought i was the only one noticed thus I didn't say anything. I quickly go and check if he was my patient. I was very relieved when I didn't see my name appeared in his request form.

Slowly, everyone in the lab started to notice the inappropriate attitude. When it was his turn to be scanned, we overheard him kept apologizing to the sonographer, "Sorry mixi (mixi stands for nurse among Chinese), sorry mixi, please save me, please save me," before a long moment of silence took place. At the end of the day, we only realized that whenever he wanted put his hand into the pants, the sonographer moderately hit his hand with a ruler!

Oh FYI, the ruler was already there for a reason. Every cubicle has a ruler for us to measure distant of occlussion or severe stenosis from groin/knee/arm crease, etc. And NO, the ruler was not there for the hitting purposes.

Look-out Point Ampang

I have to admit, Mr Ang has better EQ than I do. He knows when and where and how to behave or how to act. He is observant and thus, he knows how to react properly in front of different people. This is especially important in his career as he needs to meet a lot of bosses, customers and colleagues. This is one of his attitude that I have to learn.

Though he is now in a different company, he still keep in touch with some of his ex-colleagues. Yesterday, they meet up and went to have dinner at a place called Look-out Point at Ampang. Well, I've heard about the place but I have never been there. It is located at a higher place than KL city itself, thus you can actually see whole KL from the top of it.

They went to have dinner at a restaurant called Haven.

View from Haven.
Mr Ang had a picture at the restaurant.

15th August 2010. Happy Mid Autumn Festival!

Starting this entry with the look of the moon on that day! This was taken by Mr Ang at KL on Mooncake festival day! People always say that the moon on that day is the roundest, clearest and brightest. Well, I am not sure whether it is a myth or scientifically proven. I think it is true cos some how, i think I read it some where that the planet earth and the moon almost located opposite to each other on that day.

Unfortunately, Mr Ang and I were not together that day. Aunty Fong (Fong E) brought him to have dinner with her family.

That's Mr Ang cam-whoring again.

Mr Ang and Mandy.

Mervin and Uncle Mak (Yi Chiong).

Grilled duck. According to Mr Ang, not bad. Only cost them RM25. That was quite cheap. A lot of people take away.

Beancurd, Mandy's and Mervin's favorite.

Butter chicken.

Fried egg.

Vege soup.

Happy Mid Autumn Festival folks.

Melaka Part 3 of 7

After Jonker Street, we went to another end of the street. It is the Red House. This is also one of the significant historic place in Melaka. Over there, you can see many tourists. Since it is a tourist place, some of the locals brought some exotic animals for photo taking purposes to earn some income.

Can you see the Red House behind?

This is a photo with funny shooting process. As usual, we will posed with Mr Ang adjusting the tripod. In this photo, he managed to reach his "spot" on time, but there was an old lady tourist who did not noticed the tripod and walked in front of it. You can see the tourist's hand and the mouth of mine and Godmum's widely opened! lol..............

The exotic animals for photo taking. Well, actually, these are protected animals, that one is actually against the law for doing this. But these 3 animals has been here since the very 1st time i visited Melaka with Mr And which was 4 years back. It is quite amazing the business stil last until today and even the employee remained the same person, a deaf and dumb man! I am pretty sure the business was quite good because the employee is currently communicate via a 3G mobile phone. Whenever his phone vibrated, he will answer it with video calls and do his hand signals thingy.

After the Red House, we walked upward to another place with the bomb thing. From the way you see it, it is actually a place for the soldiers to watch out the enemy at night.

Mr Ang and I taking photo together.
Mr Top Gun!
This is a small tower for the soldiers to watch out. I was pretending I was trapped inside. hahha........
Mr Ang was pretending he was yoga-ing.
Another family photo with the bomb! This time around, no obstacles during the shooting process.

Melaka Part 2 of 7

After lunch, we walked around Melaka town. Melaka is a small town. You can literally visit the whole town via walking. Every Saturday night, the Jonker Street of Melaka will be full of all sort of stalls. That is the attractive point of Melaka. And some of the stalls were already there since afternoon. We went to this park, which just built recently. Mr Ang brought his tripod and set the timer to have a picture together but he set the time to fast. That was him running halfway to his position after pressing the button. We were laughing behind. Well, if you look carefully, he actually standing at the desired position as even though he wasn't prepared, he did not block anyone in this picture. Thus, this considered a good picture. There, a perfect one. Then, we stopped by a glasses stall. Mum was wearing a fancy-without-glass spectacle. This is a hit now, that every one is wearing it for the purpose of fashion. Godmum with sunglasses. lol...The sunglasses fits her hair. Mr Ang with the fancy glass. He actually like it and even seriously want to buy it! Another glass, which made him looked so much like Chang Lung! This is his own glass, the Top Gun glass. I love him wearing it. Oh, that's me with a big hat. Nice huh?
